  • 1971 Datsun 240z Turbo Restomod

    1971 Datsun 240z Turbo Resomod. Recently finished in GM corvette Shark Grey. I owned this car for 15 years and have done almost everything to it.. NO rust on the car it was originally from Georgia it HAD a bid of rust in floor, wheel arches, and doglegs. All of it was cut out, welded with new replacement metal, Seam sealed etc. Frame rails are perfect. Car is very fast old school with lots of modern touches. Car starts right up runs perfect and pulls hard.

    Engine
    F54 280zx turbo block fresh rebuild under 2000 miles. Main/Rod bearings, cleaned painted, bored .5 mm over pistons short block was assembled by Actek Machine Shop here in Ottawa and setup for turbo spec ring gap. ARP head studs, Felpro gasket, p90 ported head, head resurfaced, valve job, stem seal etc. New timing, chain, tensioner and guides, Polished Valve cover and Intake manifold. All new gasket top to bottom.

    Air / Fuel / Ignition / Cooling
    MS2 Engine management system- Fully tunable with bluetooth wireless connection to PC/ Android etc. FORD EDIS distributless ignition with 36-1 trigger wheel on crank pulley. 14point7 wideband controller+gauge, 440cc RB injectors, 240sx throttle body w/TPS, custom fuel rail, Tial 50mm Blow off valve, HDI dual electronic boost controller, GT35 Turbo, Ported turbo manifold w/ SS inlet for VS 44mm Wastegate, heat wrapped Custom 3' downpipe w/flex for wastegate and SS flex for exhaust, 1' Dynomax Resonator, Magnaflow SS muffler. 27x12x3 Bar and plate intercooler, 2.5 IC piping. Walbro 255 fuel pump, Custom Harness with Fusebox and relays for EFI. 3 core aluminator radiator w/ 16" electric fan controlled by ECU and Stainless Steel flexible Rad hoses. New battery and battery Ground. Intake manifold has been ported , cleared out of all the clutter welded EGR and lots of ports.

    Drivetrain / Suspension / Brakes
    240sx s14 transmission short shifter very crips shifts!, 6 puck clutch, custom tranny mount, r200 differential, Ron Tyler Top diff mount, 280zx turbo axles and companian flanges, Energy red bushings all around, Tokico lowering springs with shocks, 4runner 4 piston calipers, 280zx Master cylinder, 280zx rear disc brakes ( ebrake not hooked up at the moment). MSA Rear strut bar.

    Exterior
    Car was completely stripped one step away from Rotiserie any rust was cut out and replaced, Painted GM shark Grey. The doors are a bit off in colour I believe body shop painted different time or temp. Dont know exactly it looks worse in pics most people cant tell. New weather stripping all around, windshield, doors, hatch. Floors were cut out and replaced with Zed Findings floor pans spot welded, seam sealed, POR-50 epoxy black, and rubber gaurd on the exterior. 16x8 Rota RB wheels with BF Goodrich KDW. Door/hatch strikers, Gas tank cap and other bits were Zync plated. Doors have new pins and bushings.

    Interior
    Dashboard full cover with Autometer Phantom Gauges w/LED lights, insulated interior heat/ sound dampening. Custom middle panel with 7" android double din (gps, media, music apps etc) shift light, and boost controller in panel. Custom Seat mounts for RSX leather seats very comfortable and modern (heated seats not hooked up) 4 point harness. Transmission tunner, side skirts and roof all new vinyl. Datsun works speaker panels in kick-panels (the speaker in at the moment are crappy honestly) Middle console is from late 240z with ashtray very good shape and new inner shift boot. Momo steering wheel with hub.

    I am probably forgetting allot of stuff but thats most of it. The only issues it has are windshield has 2 knicks, no heat will include heater core(with new OEM hoses, fan blower, and dash heater panel. The drive side tie rod needs replacement causes a bit of a shake when driving have a good used unit with a full rack and pinion. The keys have all been rekeyed to one key however the doors dont lock from exterior I know its simple fix but want to be completey honest. Driver Door panel has a small rip near door handle and couple mounting points are not mounted. Low ballers will be ignored I am no rush to sell the car so dont waste your time or mine please. Iam asking $28 500 CDN I believe its fair for a 240z and with whats been done.
